The Purpose

April 23, 2013

Last year EDGE Ministries had the privilege of going to Uganda for 2 1/2 months. While there I saw God do amazing things in the lives of the people we ministered to. People responded to Gods call to Salvation, God healed many who were sick and set free those who were oppressed..  In simple terms, it was amazing!

But God also started another work. An unseen work.  It was the work of stripping away from my life those things that were hindering Gods move. You may know what I’m talking about.  Those mindsets that we tend to develop that define what effective ministry is.  Those mindsets that focus on what we can do for the people, the things we should accomplish in order to have a “successful” ministry... Those habits we allow ourselves to be trapped in that lead us back into a negative, selfish, self defeating attitude when God doesn’t move the way we think he should. When its easier to simply quit than press on.  You know what I’m talking about, don’t you?

But here’s the revealing truth God has been showing me every since my return from Uganda last August...  THE PURPOSE...  It’s NOT about the programs, the outreaches or the humanitarian projects...  Rather it’s ALL about Jesus and His great commission to reach the lost for HIS kingdom.  It’s about hearing God’s voice and then moving forward in obedience, even when everything seems to be going in the wrong direction.  It’s about carrying out Gods plan God’s way  and fulfilling God’s purpose.  And, in the process of it all, learning to both enjoy as well as learn from the walk it takes to get there.

God has call EDGE Outreach to a ministry in which evangelism and missions is a vital part. To go and reach the lost not only in the U.S. but in other countries as well. Last year it was Uganda and with Gods direction and provision EDGE will return for full time ministry in Uganda soon.

But God has also opened another exciting door!  God has made a way for EDGE Outreach Ministries to go the  Alaskan Bush!  God has opened the door for EDGE Ministries to partner with Next Level Revival Ministries in a joint effort that will allow us to minister to the  INUIT INDIANS of  Dillingham, Alaska.

EDGE, in partnership with NLR Ministries, will be heading to the Alaskan bush  from June 14, 2013  to  June 24, 2013 for 2 weeks of Ministry, Teaching and Revival!

During our time in Alaska, EDGE and NLR Ministries will be holding Adult and Youth Revival services. During the day we will be conducting Ministry Leadership Training designed to better equip those God has called into ministry.  There is also a possibility that we will be able to travel to other isolated villages in the Southwest Alaska area bringing Gods Word as well as offering limited medical services.

This is a very exciting time for us at EDGE Outreach Ministries and we are looking forward to seeing what God will do, both in our own lives as well as in the lives of those God allows us to minister to.

Please visit our website at  www.edgeministries.net  and click on the page entitled ALASKA to learn how you can become a part of this amazing ministry opportunity.

I Never Thought

August 26, 2012
When it became clear to me that God wanted me to go to Uganda, Africa, well, there were a lot of emotions. Excitement that I was finally going to a foreign country, as a missionary and not in the military. That would be different. Anxiety because of the seperation from my family. Fear over finances and all the unknown. What if money wasn’t there. What if the money was there and it ran out? What if I get sick? What if the kids or Diana gets sick or hurt? So many what if’s. So, I defaulted ...

Witch Doctor's, Chickens and Babies!

August 16, 2012

I got the chance to go over to the next hill next to the village. It’s where the witch doctor’s cave is. It’s really a cave too, kinda creepy if you ask me. When we got there it started to rain so we took shelter to wait the storm out. As we were waiting this really nice car drives by with four people in it. Now this is really unusual because there is like nothing up on this hill except a few houses. Why would such a nice car be coming up here?  Well, I soon got my answer. As we made ou...

Imagine, If You Can...

August 11, 2012

Imagine, if you can, looking into the eyes of a mother, with tears in her eyes holding her child out to you and asking only one thing, PLEASE take my child! Imagine, if you can, looking into the eyes of a mother who knows she will never be free of poverty, her hope is lost but here in front of her sits a young child who might just make it. So, in desperation she asks can you help my child, can you send this one to school , can this child eat today? PLEASE, help MY child! You see, it’s not t...

The Road to Bugiri

July 28, 2012

At the beginning of the week God opened the door for me to go to Bugiri. Twice I said no to the idea of going.  After all, I knew what God wanted and Bugiri wasn’t in the equation. The money was tight, it didn’t add up and all the “what If’s began to flood my mine..  NO!  I’m not going to Bugiri!  Or so I thought.  It’s amazing what God likes to do when we think we have him all figure out.

After much prayer and a lot of conviction via the Holy Spirit, I made the decision. If God ...
